Introducing

A distinctive chicken with a unique & delicious taste

BroadOak Slow Cooked Chicken - a delicious and unique taste

Broadoak Slow chickens are the type of heritage birds that were a common sight in farmyards years ago. The birds live and grow as nature intended - very very slowly. The complete opposite of modern, intensively farmed chickens which are genetically engineered to grow at an unnatural rate; our chickens don't have any artificial additives or growth stimulants - they just eat great tasting Dorset grain.

We like our birds to be 'Happy Active Chickens', free to roam and forage with other farm animals just like their great-grandparents did. At night as the temperature drops, you'll find them asleep in their warm shelters free from harm's way.

BroadOak Slow Chickens are raised locally in Dorset in a peaceful and stress-free environment which makes the meat full of flavour. The breed ensures there is much less fat than a conventional bird and the breast meat is slightly darker.
